Crissy is studying the biology of squid sperm in order to understand more about the ecology, reproductive behavior, and sperm competition mechanisms of cephalopods.  She is currently examining sperm from the squids Dosidicus gigas, Doryteuthis opalescens, and Pterygioteuthis sp.
