Eve Lundsten is a research specialist at MBARI studying seafloor processes through the lens of seafloor morphology, bringing together technical expertise and hands-on fieldwork to advance our understanding of continental margin processes and marine geology. Her work centers on processing, analyzing, and differencing repeated multibeam mapping surveys to reveal how the seafloor changes over time, alongside sediment core logging and sample curation. She manages and organizes the Continental Margins Lab’s multidecade seafloor datasets, archives multidisciplinary data in online repositories, and keeps our labs complex workflows running smoothly. She coordinates field logistics for oceanographic expeditions at sea and thrives on the cross-disciplinary collaboration that drives discovery in marine science. Additionally, she creates elegant and informative visualizations and scientific illustrations to communicate research findings, regularly contributes to writing and editing for high-impact publications, and presents research at scientific conferences.
