My research interests are in plankton food web dynamics,
with a focus on gelatinous zooplankton and their role in nutrient and
energy cycling in the marine environment. I conducted my Ph.D. research
on the role of filter-feeding gelatinous zooplankton (appendicularians)
as trophic intermediaries between prokaryotes and higher-level
consumers with Michael
Landry in the School
of Ocean, Earth Science & Technology (SOEST) at the University of Hawaii.
As a postdoctoral fellow at MBARI, I am currently studying the food web role of deep-sea amphipods, with a focus on their symbiotic relationship with gelatinous zooplankton. This work is being conducted in Steve Haddock's, in collaboration with Bruce
Robison and the Midwater
Ecology team.
