Probe chemistries for the Environmental Sample Processor (ESP)

Project Manager and Lead Scientist: Chris Scholin

Chris Scholin’s lab is focusing on proving out the reality of in situ molecular analysis for ocean research and marine monitoring and management. They must prove that the sample handling methodologies and assay chemistries designed for use in instruments such as the ESP satisfy a number of tests for repeatability, stability, accuracy, long life, and verifiability under realistic operating conditions. Once these tests are met, we will truly be able to confidently “bring back data, not samples” for monitoring the microbial ocean.
