Regular sampling of the upper water column along transects in Monterey Bay using a Dorado AUV equipped with instruments to measure temperature, salinity, oxygen, fluorescence, optical backscatter, etc. supports multiple researchers: Francisco Chavez, John Ryan, Ken Johnson, Steve Haddock, and Kanna Rajan. Pooling the AUV time in one project provides great flexibility for swapping missions between research programs to benefit from unexpected opportunities and delays in projects.
