Autonomous Ocean Sampling Network (AOSN)
Project Manager: Jim Bellingham
Software development under this project is resulting in high-risk/high-reward aspects of the Tethys long-range autonomous underwater vehicle (LRAUV) software architecture. By using the AOSN project for proof of concept, the LRAUV project is able to focus on transitioning the best elements to the vehicle and making them robust. Examples include modular software architecture and real-time configuration of layered control. The highest priority for 2009 is to move Tethys to operational status.
