Technology Transfer of MOOS to a Black Sea Observatory

MBARI is scoping out a collaborative project with the German Center for Marine Studies at the University of Bremen to put a MOOS mooring in the Black Sea as an observatory to monitor a methane seep on the seafloor. The German collaborators are in the process of raising the funds to duplicate the components of the mooring for their deployment. MBARI would loan some parts and make available the time of some engineers who are critical for consulting and to help with final integration and assembly.
