Judith Kildow’s program in ocean policy will serve as a bridge between the natural science and engineering work at MBARI and the activities of the Center for Ocean Solutions. She will be targeting three strategic areas in which MBARI institutional initiatives overlap with strategic initiatives of the Center for Ocean Solutions. Those areas are ocean acidification, land-sea connection (MBARI's CANON project which targets harmful algal blooms), and ecosystem changes (MBARI's biodiversity initiative).
