This project team seeks to understand and address the opportunities for large scale ocean observing systems for ocean climate and ecosystem assessment. Jim Bellingham is using information from community experiments in Monterey Bay to quantify the performance of various platforms and survey designs for the ability to capture synoptic views of key ocean fields. This project is highly leveraged with funding from the Office of Naval Research.
