This platform will be deployed on the Monterey Accelerated Research System (MARS) cable in 2008 when the observatory infrastructure is complete. Tasks to be completed before deployment on MARS include integrating the camera, video camera, and lights. Ultimately, the Rover will be capable of monitoring changes in benthic communities and their oxygen consumption on time scales ranging from weeks to years.
