MBARI Chemical Sensor Program
Project Manager and Lead Scientist: Ken Johnson
Ken Johnson’s lab will be initiating a development effort for a new chemical sensor to measure carbonate ion, using the in situ ultraviolet spectrophotometer (ISUS) technology. Work will also continue on the ammonium / total CO2 analyzer, the trace metal sensors, and the pH sensor begun in 2007. Publication of the successful application of ISUS for measuring sulfide flux is in the works.
