The geographic information systems scripts used on the research vessels, Western Flyer and Point Lobos, allow scientists to track the position of the remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) over maps of the seafloor in real time. Scripts now in use are no longer compatible with the latest versions of software used for geographic information systems. This project will evaluate, and if resources permit, implement an upgrade option.
