This scoping project will bring together researchers within MBARI and beyond to develop a science plan and define instrument needs for a new MBARI initiative to understand how carbon, nitrogen, and redox cycles interact to define the biological activity of the ocean and respond to climate change. The goal is to develop an integrated approach that will define a current baseline and anticipate future changes to ocean chemistry and biology in response to natural and anthropogenic forcing.
