MBARI adjunct Edith Widder will be using the MBARI video archives to determine whether the elevated noise level from hydraulic vehicles, such as Ventana, results in fewer observations of animals as compared with all-electric vehicles, such as Tiburon. She will continue deployments of the Eye-in-the-Sea camera system, which will be one of the first instrument systems to be connected (with NSF support) to the MARS cable.
