Development of an eddy flux system for benthic flux measurements
Project Manager: Jim Barry
Lead Scientist: Ken Johnson
Lead Engineer: Andy Hamilton
A benthic lander has been developed to measure the flux of oxygen near the seafloor, using the eddy correlation method commonly used in atmospheric sciences. The development team will be tracking down noise sources caused by the logging unit and surface waves before moving the instrument to deeper water in 2006.
