With substantial funding from NASA, the ESP development team will complete the modification of the instrument for deployment in deep-sea vent communities to evaluate the abundance of thermophilic and methanotrophic microorganisms present. They will develop a more detailed design for a modified ESP that is compatible with Martian surface operations.
