Benthic Rover

Project Managers: Ken Smith, Paul McGill
Lead Scientist: Ken Smith
Lead Engineer: Paul McGill

MBARI scientist Ken Smith will collaborate with a team of engineers to build a system that acquires a diverse series of measurements at the sediment/water interface. Some of the measurements are community oxygen consumption, sediment surface fluorescence, megafaunal density, and current flow. The device will crawl along the seafloor to sample new sites and will receive power and communications through a tether to the MARS cable.
