An Autonomous Bottom-Transecting Instrument Platform (ROVER II)
Project Manager & Lead Scientist: Ken Smith
Development of ROVER II is being transitioned from Scripps Institute of Oceanography (SIO) to MBARI during 2005. As a first step, ROVER II will be designed to operate through the MARS observatory infrastructure. The ultimate goal will be to get enough experience with this instrument system such that more autonomous versions can be constructed in the future for deployment in more remote locations.
