HDTV Camera for Tiburon

This project will provide an off-the-shelf HDTV camera for use on the ROVTiburon. To minimize technical risk, costs, and internal engineering resources, we will be purchasing an existing camera design. The camera should be installed on Tiburon by summer of 2005.
The proposed camera will be a stand-alone system, operated through a single-mode fiber optic link, with a titanium housing optimized for 4000 meters of water depth. The core design will include an advanced camera and lens control system and a lapbox operator interface. This project will also address the required peripheral equipment associated with using this technology in the R/V Western Flyer control room. Impacts on the shore side video support structure will also be evaluated.
