Ventana variable buoyancy

This project will develop a variable buoyancy system for the ROV Ventana. Operationally, the system will increase bottom time by allowing for quicker ascents and descents. The system will also improve tracking and time to a given location because of the lessening of set and drifts incurred during the descent. Variable buoyancy will allow for the deployment of larger science payloads with minimal impact on the performance of the ROV, once the load is deployed.
