The goal of this project is to improve the quality, documentation and support for the functionality provided by the DataManager software subsystem of Tiburon, R/V Western Flyer, Ventana and R/V Point Lobos.

DataManager is a fairly complex (20,000 line) software subsystem, about eight years old, developed at MBARI to provide real-time network data delivery services within the Tiburon/Western Flyer computer systems. The software has been retrofitted onto Ventana /Point Lobos. DataManager is a key subsystem within these vehicles and right in the middle of data communication; problems within DataManager can bring operations to a halt. Like the vehicles, DataManager is an asset that requires ongoing maintenance and support.
