Nicholas Bock is a Research Specialist on the Chemical Sensors team.  Nick has a Ph.D. in marine microbial ecology from Columbia University and recently completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Laboratoire d’Océanographie de Villefranche (LOV) under Hervé Claustre.  Nick’s research has focused on utilizing data from satellites and BGC-Argo floats, as well as leveraging machine-learning techniques, to better understand regional drivers of phytoplankton variability.  At MBARI, contributes to data management of biogeochemical profiling floats deployed within the GO-BGC (Global Ocean Biogeochemical) float array, and focusing on enhancing automated methods for quality control, monitoring, and visualization.
