Ryan Barlow

CEO and Founder of GeoPulse Solutions

Advanced imaging technologies are rapidly reshaping how we observe and quantify the world, from satellites to laboratory instruments, across all industries and sciences. In this talk, Ryan Barlow, CEO and Founder of GeoPulse Solutions, will explore the current state of spectral imaging systems, highlighting both their transformative capabilities and the engineering challenges that limit broader adoption.

Drawing from a career spent at the forefront of development – including sensor systems deployed for trace explosive detection in Afghanistan, augmented reality hardware, and satellite payloads for imaging methane – Ryan will provide real-world insight into the evolution of advanced imaging instrumentation.

The discussion will examine the practical barriers to deploying next-generation imaging systems – cost, complexity, calibration, data processing, and system integration – and present an outlook for the future. The talk will also highlight the recent product launch of MODI, a laboratory automation platform for research and inspection.

Attendees will gain perspective on where advanced imaging stands today, what challenges remain, and how thoughtful engineering can expand its scientific and commercial impact.
