FloatViz 4.0 - Apex/ISUS Data Visualization

An ISUS nitrate sensor in a Webb Research Apex profiling float

What's new? Float 8486 was deployed at the Hawaii Ocean Time series (HOT) station on May 19. This is the first float to integrate pH, nitrate, oxygen, chlorophyll and backscatter sensors. Floats 7546 and 7674 deployed in the Kuroshio Extension region on Feb. 28/Mar. 1, 2013. Floats 7619 and 7620 deployed in the Southern Ocean on March 1/2, 2013. Float 7672 was deployed at the Hawaii Ocean Time series (HOT) station with a Deep-Sea Durafet pH sensor on Oct. 2, 2012.

* These floats have biooptical sensors for chlorophyll and backscatter in addition to nitrate, oxygen and a CTD.
** These were short-term test deployments and the floats were then recovered.
+ These floats have exhausted their batteries and are not operating.
o Oxygen concentration on these floats have have been quality controlled by adjusting raw data to fit Winkler titrations (more coming on process).
$ These floats were deployed near Hawaii between 2002 and 2008 and have all stopped operating. They have only O2 sensors.
$$ These floats either were not deployed with a nitrate sensor or the nitrate sensor has stopped and they have oxygen sensors only.
% These floats are equipped with Durafet pH sensors modified at MBARI to operate at high pressure. pH reported on the Total Proton Scale at in situ T/P and at 25C/1 atm.
