FathomVerse honored in the 30th Annual Webby Awards

FathomVerse honored in the 30th Annual Webby Awards

The Webby Awards has recognized FathomVerse as a Webby Honoree for AI Experiences and Applications at the 30th Annual Webby Awards, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences.

Developed through the FathomNet Program led by MBARI Principal Engineer Kakani Katija, FathomVerse is a mobile game that turns ocean exploration into engaging play. Combining real scientific imagery with interactive gameplay, FathomVerse invites players to classify real images of ocean animals to help improve the artificial intelligence tools that researchers use to study marine life and assess ocean health.

FathomVerse was named a Webby Honoree in the AI Experiences and Applications Energy and Sustainability category.

The Webby Awards is the leading international awards organization honoring excellence on the internet. This year, The Webby Awards received more than 13,000 entries from all 50 states and more than 70 countries worldwide. Honoree status is awarded to the top 25 percent of all entries.
