Chasing Marine Snowstorms: Spring 2026

April 9–13, 2026 – MBARI’s Carbon Flux Ecology Team will use advanced imaging systems to study marine snow and measure the transport of carbon to the depths of Monterey Canyon.

Deep Sea 3D: Sur Ridge Spring 2026

March 10–17, 2026 – MBARI scientists and engineers will use the CoMPAS Lab’s innovative new mapping sensors and software to survey Sur Ridge’s coral gardens.

Axial Seamount Seafloor-Mapping Expedition

September 4, 2019 – The R/V Rachel Carson just returned from a successful 18-day mapping expedition at Axial Seamount, off the coast of Oregon.
