The world is shared. Our understanding of it is not. Human-machine teaming depends on narrowing that gap.

Humans and machines both perceive the world, form internal representations of it, and act based on those representations. Yet even when operating in the same environment, they do not necessarily share the same understanding. That creates alignment challenges between people, between machines, and between people and machines. Our work at Humana Machina explores how spatial intelligence can help close that gap by creating shared, physically grounded representations that connect people, machines, and data. We’ll use Waypoint, a spatial interface for complex assets, as a concrete example of how shared spatial context can support inspection, maintenance, training, collaboration, and future human-machine workflows.
