Alexandra Worden elected fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology
May 26, 2016 - MBARI Scientist Alexandra Worden has been elected to Fellowship in the American Academy of Microbiology. Fellows of the Academy are elected annually through a highly selective, peer-review process, based on their records of scientific achievement and original contributions that have advanced microbiology.

Indian researcher teams up with MBARI on phytoplankton biodiversity study
Feb 4, 2016 - For the next month and a half, MBARI will be hosting Gurdeep Rastogi, a molecular microbiologist from India. Rastogi is working with MBARI microbial ecologist Alexandra Z. Worden and her team to study populations of ultra-small algae (picophytoplankton).
