Research Assistant – Bioengineering Lab (Temporary 6-months)

MBARI is currently seeking an individual with an Engineering or Marine Science background to join the Bioengineering Lab at MBARI and contribute to the JellyMove project. The project is a collaboration with MBARI, the Goldbogen Lab at Hopkins Marine Station (HMS; Stanford University), and Monterey Bay Aquarium to conduct animal movement studies of jellies using novel tagging technology (ITAG)

Minimum skills include knowledge of basic electronics, programming (e.g., Matlab, arduino, python), and desire/willingness to conduct field research. This is a full-time, 6-month term position (a part-time position for longer duration can be negotiated), and the candidate will be based between Moss Landing (MBARI) and Pacific Grove (HMS).  Minimum High School diploma or equivalent and some college education required.  Must be able to work with diverse groups of people.
