By participating in this workshop, you will:
- Learn about “Microplastics in Antarctica” ( Alexis Janosik, UWF Scientist) and “Bluetooth Beacons” (Dr. Dave Dawson, UWF Scientist)
- Collaboratively create a lesson plan and network with teachers in your region
- Meet and work with a local scientist who is actively doing research
- Learn about MBARI’s EARTH lessons and other resources available

Objectives |
The purpose of the workshop is to:
- Educate, excite, and engage teachers with the concept of using near-real-time data in the classroom
- Develop curricula enabling teachers and students to utilize near-real-time data
- Increase scientific literacy and knowledge about ocean and polar science
