Markus Min is a member of the Biological Oceanography Group (BOG). He has been working with Francisco Chavez and the rest of the BOG team on various environmental DNA (eDNA) projects since June 2019, first as an intern and now as a research assistant.
Markus graduated with a B.S. in marine biology from University of California, Los Angeles, where he was involved in various eDNA research projects, most notably his Honor’s thesis in which he developed a new primer set to detect rockfishes (Sebastes spp.) via eDNA metabarcoding. His primary academic and professional interests are in marine ecology, statistical and ecological modeling, and fisheries science.
