Human Resources Recruitment Specialist

The Human Resources Recruitment Specialist provides key support in the areas of recruitment and ensuring that the institute’s affirmative action plan is in compliance, as well as tracking employment statistics and making recommendations as appropriate.

The incumbent ensures open positions are posted in a timely manner and reaches diverse audiences.  The incumbent ensures all open positions, including apprenticeships, graduate student, communications and postdoctoral fellowships, are appropriately advertised, mails acknowledgment and regret notifications to applicants, collects and distributes resumes to hiring managers and/or hiring committees, schedules interviews, arranges for travel and lodging for interviewees, house hunting and relocation trips when applicable. Under the guidance of the Director of Human Resources, the specialist assembles employment visa packages, both for new hires, as well as employees requiring extensions to current work visas.

The Human Resources Recruitment Specialist maintains all aspects of the institute’s affirmative action plan.  This includes, but is not limited to, tracking applicant and employee demographics, such as gender, ethnicity, veteran status, and disabilities.  Additionally, all promotions, department transfers, hires, and terminations are to be accurately documented.  The incumbent works with others in the institute in identifying and documenting outreach opportunities for diverse populations.  The incumbent monitors DEI goals, engages employees and promotes an inclusive work environment.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, and minimum five years directly related experience is required. Must have direct experience working with and maintaining affirmative action plans. Must be computer literate and proficient in word, spreadsheets, and employment tracking databases.  Excellent communication, analytical, administrative, and organizational skills are required.  Must be able to multi-task and pay strict attention to detail.  Must be able to work with diverse groups of people in a team environments.  The ability to appropriately handle confidential and sensitive information is paramount.
