As MBARI’s Public Information Specialist, a big part of my job is helping people outside of MBARI understand what we do and why we do it. I do this by writing news releases and articles about MBARI research, as well as by helping members of the media who want to write their own articles or create video stories about MBARI. I also manage MBARI’s still-image archives.
My academic background is in marine geology, environmental planning, and science writing. I also have strong interests in physical and biological oceanography and marine biology.
Outside of work, I enjoy surfing, writing, graphic arts, and playing a wide variety of music and musical instruments.
If you are interested in marine life, particularly the marine life of Central California, you might enjoy browsing my (non-MBARI) web site, Seasons in the Sea.
