EARTH 2022 – Travel Information


As an EARTH workshop participant, you will receive travel support to attend this workshop. You may fly, drive, or take public transit to the workshop, depending on your location. Sea-Tac (SEA) is the nearest airport. From there, we will help coordinate transportation to the workshop site. Please complete the 2022 Travel Form no later than April 15th, 2022, so we can get a sense of our travel costs for the workshop. Please do not make any reservations until your travel has been approved. You will be expected to make your own travel arrangements, and reimbursements will be processed as soon as your receipts are submitted at the conclusion of the workshop.

If you are driving long distance, MBARI will reimburse actual mileage only up to the cost of a reasonable round trip air ticket.


We will be using the University Silver Cloud Inn Hotel for housing. Due to COVID safety protocols. each participant will be in their own room.

What to Bring

Clothing: Workshop attire is casual, so please feel free to dress comfortably. Open-toed shoes are OK, but please plan on bringing appropriate (and comfortable) footwear. 

Toiletries and other supplies: There are grocery stores and chain pharmacies available nearby if you need to pick up snacks, toiletries or other necessary supplies. 

Other: We will provide a notebook and water bottle for you at the workshop. Bring a hot cup if you like coffee/tea. 

Computer: We are expecting that you will bring a laptop computer. If you do not have one and will need to use one, please let us know at as soon as possible so that we make arrangements.


Itemized/detailed receipts are required for ALL expenses. (We may not be able to reimburse you if we do not receive itemized receipts.) Alcohol cannot be reimbursed. If possible, please purchase alcohol on separate bill.
