DSEL 15 cruise
September, 2015
The DSEL15 Cruise collaboration with Orphan lab is in. DSEL15 (Deep Sea Eukaryotic Life) is the first in a series of cruises Alex has funded to explore activities of microbes from across the tree of life in the deep sea – of course with euphotic zone work as well. Graduate student Rachel Harbeitner will be investigating these samples and collaborate with the Orphan lab (https://www.gps.caltech.edu/content/victoria-j-orphan) in a series of geochemical analyses. Alex Worden and postdoc Amy Zimmerman served as Chief Scientists on the two leg cruise with went out this September. Videos and pictures coming soon!
