Deep Sea Connect
Wireless connections in the deep sea.

Deep Sea Connect being mated to the Raspberry Shake Citizen Science Station.
Deep Sea Connect is wireless power and data connectivity to the MARS node. The system consists of three ports each capable of delivering 25 watts of power and up to approximately 50Mb of connectivity. As a demonstration experiment MBARI attached a Raspberry Shake Citizen Science Station.
The overall goal of this experiment is to reduce the cost of connecting to the MARS facility in order to allow less well funded institutions such as schools and community colleges to connect and teach young people about the ocean.
