From Highway 101

  • From Prunedale, take Monterey Peninsula Exit onto State Highway 156 West toward Castroville.
  • In Castroville (about 5 miles) follow the signs to Highway 1 North, toward Santa Cruz.
  • Take Highway 1 North for approximately 3 miles to Moss Landing, recognizable by the stacks of the Moss Landing power plant.
  • When you reach Moss Landing, turn left onto Moss Landing Road (at The Whole Enchilada restaurant).
  • Take the first right onto Sandholdt Road. Cross the bridge and turn right.
  • MBARI is the large building on your left (7700 Sandholdt Road)

From Highway 1
