Distichlis spicata
Distichlis spicata, also known as common saltgrass or spike grass, is a halophitic, terrestrial angiosperm found throughout the United States, Central and South America. These plants are known for secreting macroscopic salt crystals on their blades and stems and are currently being tested for their abilities to reclaim salinated soils for agricultural production.
