Control Systems Engineer
My objective at MBARI is to advance the state of the art of ocean instrumentation, particularly regarding underwater control systems. My current projects include modeling, simulation, and control re-design for Tiburon's thrusters, and also automated robotic arm control. I come to MBARI from an aerospace background, where my most recent project was attitude control of the MSTI spacecraft. I now find myself fascinated by the many opportunites to improve underwater instrumentation through application of modern control design techniques. Personal Stuff - Cats, Bicycles, and Redwoods
