I am currently serving as the group lead for the Platforms Engineering Group in MBARI's R&D Division. Platforms Engineering is a multi-disciplinary group with expertise in state of the art oceanographic observing systems, including ROVs, AUVs, Moorings, Cabled Observatories and Drifters.
My educational background is in electrical engineering and computer science, and I have a life-long fascination with the oceans. In my role as a software engineer, my work at MBARI has been primarily with observing system software. I’m especially interested in designing flexible and scalable observing systems (and other technology) to enable ocean science and that are easy to manage and use.
MBARI is a great place to be, with a seemingly endless supply of unique science, tough technical challenges, and great people to work with.
