What follows is a photographic journey into the world of Distichlis spicata, also known as common saltgrass. We begin with a photo almost 100 kilometers across, the scale of Monterey Bay, and end with a photo on the order of 30 um, the scale of one of Distichlis' amazing salt glands.
You can find an explanation how Distichlis interacts at every scale in the "What Am I Seeing?" section, and on some pages the "More Information" section provides links to more detailed treatments of other topics of interest.
