Microcladia

This beautiful species of red algae grows as an epiphyte on larger species of red and brown algae, on the Pacific Coast from Vancouver Island, Canada to Baja California, Mexico. Here are a couple of haiku for Microcladia:

fractal-like branches                       Microcladia
exquisite red jewelry for                 looks like Plocamium, but
flat waving algae                             is epiphytic
