Silvetia compressa (J. Agardh) Serrão, Cho, Boo et Brawley

(which used to be called Pelvetia)

The cross sectional areas of internodes did not differ significantly between Pt. Pinos and Hopkins Marine Station plants; therefore, the plants do not respond to wave exposure by growing thicker internodes.
