Alex comes to MBARI from the University of Miami, where she was an Assistant Professor for the Marine Biology and Fisheries Division at the Rosenstiel School of Marine & Atmospheric Science. Alex earned her Ph.D at the Institute of Ecology, University of Georgia. Alex is interested in population regulation of photoautotrophic microbes with an emphasis on carbon cycling in marine systems.
