The Corehole Seismometer:

A microseismometer has been designed and fabricated by the Microdevice Laboratory of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). It is a triaxial geophone assembly (Mark Products L-28 or equivalent), integrated preamplifier electronics, thin-walled titanium housing and deployment hardware. State of the art electronics are used to amplify the geophone signals, and provide high response over the frequency range of 1 to 100 Hz. The final package has a maximum outside diameter of 6.3 cm and length of 30.5 cm.
