Underwater imaging involves a unique
set of constraints that limit the ability to quantitatively image large
sites in color. This seminar will focus on how to address these
constraints for AUVs by using data obtained by the SeaBED AUV during fish
and coral habitat studies off of Massachusetts and the US Virgin Islands.
Dr. Singh will also present extensions to this work for achieving
quantitative change detection with docked AUVs and the methodology for
imaging (for manipulation) in the context of the 11,000 m rated Hybrid ROV/AUV.
