ODBC setup

The ODBC source name of the MBARI_Samples database is "sample1". For accessing the database with MS Access or SQL-Server, it is necessary to map the ODBC on your own computer (for querying from the web, this is not necessary). To map the ODBC for the first time (on a PC):

Open Control Panel. Select 32-bit ODBC.
Select System DSN, then Add...
Select SQL-Server.

In the ODBC SQL-Server setup page:

The Data Source Name is "sample1".

The Server is "GODZILLA" (leave Network Address and Library as Default)

Select Options>>

The Database Name is "MBARI_Samples"

Check Use ANSI Quoted Identifiers, Use ANSI Nulls, Padding and Warnings, and Convert OEM to ANSI characters.
