Kolber’s lab will continue work on advanced engineering for sensing biochemical processes in the upper ocean. Specific activities include a benchtop flow-through seawater monitoring system for shipboard use, a laser-based (LIDAR) sensor for remote sensing of marine photosynthesis, combating biofilms and biofouling, and long-period grating-based sensors.
