DMO divisional support
Project Manager: Chris Grech
This project provides support for the Department of Marine Operations (DMO) to maintain the smooth operation of major systems.
DMO vessels and vehicles are scheduled for 2004 as follows:
-
150 sea days of Western Flyer / Tiburon operations.
-
50 sea days of Pt. Lobos / Ventana operations.
-
17 sea days of the Pt. Lobos CTD operations.
-
Approximately 140 days of Zephyr.
-
80-100 AUV days, depending upon requests
The Information Applications and Information Services groups provide support for the various degrees of complex computer network, navigation, and data handling systems on all three vessels. Video systems—another data path—are maintained and supported by the Information and Technology Dissemination video group. The mechanical engineering team works on modifications or upgrades to vessel, ROV, and AUV systems. The core engineering group reviews designs, runs FEA analysis, and assists in changes generated by DMO staff.
