Note: the calibration of the instrument for the earlier data is not as accurate as for the later data. Also, data obtained at depth in the ocean may show calibration shifts due to temperature and pressure effects. A diamond plate in the beam path in the optical head produces the 1332 cm-1 diamond line that is superimposed on the later data. This provides a calibration reference.
